Equipment Repair/Services
A rental fleet is only as good as the people who service it.
That’s why Metrolift has built a team of the most experienced service technicians in the lift business. Metrolift’s service techs meticulously maintain each piece of rental equipment according to ANSI specifications and follow a strict quality control regimen before each unit goes out on rent.
For those instances when a piece of equipment does malfunction in the field, Metrolift has a team of centrally dispatched mobile mechanics dedicated to quickly diagnosing the problem and repairing equipment in the field. Our road mechanics are trained to work in various environments and also stock a quantity of parts and supplies in their trucks. The number one goal of our mobile service techs is to minimize downtime and get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
Own Lifts? Metrolift’s service department provides several services that will preserve the life of your lifts and prevent minor issues from becoming major headaches. Here are some of the services we provide:
• ANSI Inspections
Have your lifts received an Annual Safety Inspection within the last 13 months, performed by a qualified lift technician according to the manufacturer’s specs? ANSI A92.6 2006 Manual of Responsibilities for owners and operators of lift equipment clearly states “The owner of an aerial platform shall ensure that an annual inspection is performed on the aerial platform no later than thirteen (13) months from the date of the prior annual inspection. The inspection shall be performed by a person(s) qualified as a mechanic on the specific make and model of the aerial platform.”
Additionally, if a malfunction or problem is detected, “the owner shall not place the aerial platform into service until all malfunctions and problems have been corrected.” Having a qualified lift technician perform annual inspections on your lifts protects the safety of your employees and protects your company against OSHA violations and certain liabilities that could result from an accident involving your lift. Please contact our service department at 888-543-8289 to arrange to have our qualified lift technicians inspect your lifts as soon as possible.
• Preventive Maintenance Programs - A regular preventative maintenance program is the best way to preserve the life of your lift and prevent minor problems from developing into costly repairs. Metrolift has a dedicated shop for maintaining, inspecting and repairing customer equipment and a staff of experienced lift technicians trained on all major brands of lift equipment. By servicing your equipment at regular intervals, you will be assured of maximum uptime, productivity and, most importantly, safety.
• Major Repairs - Sometimes extensive repairs to equipment are necessary due to equipment age, damage or heavy use. Metrolift can assess the value / payback of repairing your equipment versus renting or replacing it in addition to providing a detailed cost estimate. If repairing your lift is the best option, Metrolift’s trained mechanics are ready for the job. Our experienced technicians will work efficiently to get your lift back up and running as quickly as possible.
• Parts - Metrolift’s parts department is fully stocked with many popular and regularly used items to keep our rental fleet up and running. However, Metrolift also sells parts for all major brands of aerial equipment to customers who own their equipment. Additionally, we stock safety harnesses, tire covers and other rental accessories.
